Adelaide Medical Centre has been caring for the local community of Primrose Hill, Swiss Cottage, Chalk Farm, Belsize Park, Hampstead and Camden since 1974. We look after around 12,000 patients, with our dedicated team of 10+ experienced doctors and other clinicians including nurses, advanced physician assistants, pharmacists and social prescribers. We strive to deliver, in partnership with our patients, the highest standard of patient-centered care within the National Health Service.

Our Vision

  • To provide a safe and welcoming environment for our patients
  • For our staff to be approachable, respectful and patient-centred
  • To be at the forefront of modern general practice, offering a wide range of services and facilities
  •  To be a centre of excellence for teaching and training GP registrars, medical students, nurses and other trainee health professionals
  •  To use technology smartly to improve our efficiency and effectiveness, without alienating those of our patients who find new technologies challenging or intimidating
  • To invest in our staff, diversifying and developing our skills and knowledge base to ensure that we have a highly skilled, resilient and adaptable workforce to meet the needs of our patients and communities
  • To collaborate and work in partnership to strengthen community links and respond to local, regional and national initiatives

Physician Assistants

Physician Assistants (PAs) are healthcare professionals with a generalist healthcare education who work collaboratively alongside our GPs, providing medical care as part of the multidisciplinary team. PAs work under the supervision of senior GPs but can work autonomously with appropriate support. They were previously known as Physician Associates, but we have adopted the new 'Assistant' name as recommended by the independent Leng review of July 2025.
