Register with us

Join the surgery

If you are a new patient wanting to register with us, the best way is to do this online via the NHS app or the register with a GP surgery service. Please speak to our reception staff if you are having difficulty with this.

Alternatively, you can register in person at reception during our normal opening hours.

You'll only be asked to give basic information to register with us: this includes your name, date of birth and address. You do not need ID, proof of address or proof of immigration status.

Please tell us your NHS number if you know it, as this will make it easier for us to find your medical records. However you do not need an NHS number to register with us.

Temporary patient registrations

If you are ill while away from home, or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one, you can receive emergency treatment from any GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can register as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the practice list local to where you are, while still remaining a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already permanently registered.

Out of area policy

We accept registrations from patients who live outside our practice catchment area (shown above). However, please note that out-of-area registration is voluntary for GP practices, meaning that patients can be refused registration because they live out of area.

We assess applications on a case-by-case basis, to ensure that out-of-area patients are registered only if it is clinically appropriate and practical for the individual.

Please note the following points, which apply to all out-of-area patients under our practice policy:

  • We cannot provide home visits or out-of-hours care: if you have an urgent care need out of hours you will have to call NHS 111 who may put you in touch with a local service or arrange a home visit where necessary
  • We cannot guarantee success of referrals we make to secondary care or other external services, many of which determine eligibility by home postcode
  • We will not register children under the age of 16: we believe this is in not in their best interests, as it would reduce access to vital support services within Camden, such as health visitors and safeguarding
  • We also believe it is preferable that children under the age of 16 be registered at the same practice as their families; therefore we may also ask adult family members to register at a more local practice on this basis
  • If accepted as an out-of-area patient but your health needs change, we may review your registration to see if it would be safer and/or more appropriate for you to register with a GP practice closer to your home
  • If you are continuously late for your appointments at the practice, we may have to reconsider your registration and ask you to register with a GP local to your address

If accepted as an out-of-area patient you can attend the practice and receive the full range of services provided at the surgery as normal.
